The best Avocados in the world com from the mountains of Michoacán, México.

What makes this avocados so good?

The answer is a combination of the right altitude, the volcanic soil of the region, and the perfect weather, combined with the care and attention of the farmers dedicated, for generations, to the avocados and it´s region.

This project had several challenges:

  • We shot the whole project in 2.5 days:
    • 1 day at the fields
    • 1 day at the packing plant
    • 1/2 day of drone shots
  • The distances between all 3 locations were far, so we had to split the propduction to accomodate company moves.
  • On the fields day, we had rain 65 % of the day, so we had to work around it, and even under the rain.
  • The field location was far into the mountains.
  • The packing plant did not stop operating, so we had to light and shoot while the process was running. The packing area was a wide space with high ceilings but not enough light, so we used several HMI heads on a high point to light per areas, and we diffused and bounced the light to control the hardness and direction of the shadows. Once the main lighting was in place, we carried some bounces and a couple of 1×1 Bi Color high CRI LED fixtures to give accents to the tighter shots and portraits.
  • Inside the packing plan were cooling chambers that posed a challenge to shoot in, because it caused condensation on lenses and cameras. We had just 1 day at the packing plant to shoot all of it, so we brought a second camera just for the cooling chambers, and we left it acclimating for 3 hours, while shooting with the other camera and lenses outside.
  • While Color Grading, we matched footage from:
    • Red Scarlet
    • Canon 5D
    • DJI Zen Muse XS5
    • Go Pro HD 5 Black 4K

Great project, and shooting both outdoors, indoors, under rain, and against the clock was really challenging, but lot´s of fun!
